Join MillionTreesNYC Spring Planting Day as a Compost Coordinator!

Every planting season, MillionTreesNYC engages enthusiastic, energetic, and environmentally–minded New Yorkers in volunteering to help plant 20,000 trees at parks citywide!  Join us and fellow volunteers to make New York City greener and greater, by volunteering to help support our planting day as a Compost Coordinator. We are looking to recruit Master Composters, and green gurus who can help manage our compost collection at each of our planting sites. As we provide our planting volunteers with light breakfast and lunch refreshments, they need gentle reminders about which waste goes where. As a Compost Coordinator we ask that you review our orientation guidebook and commit to staffing from 9-1PM. All Compost Coordinator volunteers will receive training by our staff, breakfast and lunch, t-shirt and giveaway item.

Register to volunteer as a Compost Coordinator by emailing Andrew.Newman@parks.nyc.gov with your contact information and preferred planting site. Parks staff will be coordinating transport compost materials to drop off sites, but any volunteers with their own transportation who would be willing to drop off would be appreciated. Please list that in your email to us.

Thank you for helping to make NYC greener and greater.
